Professor Ramesh K Tripathi MD, FRCS, FRACS
Professor Ramesh K Tripathi is a Senior Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions of Queensland, Australia. He operates at Buderim Private Hospital, Buderim on the Sunshine Coast and Friendly Society Private Hospital, Bundaberg in the Wide Bay Region.
He is also an Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering at the University of Sunshine Coast.
Prof. Tripathi is a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS). After arriving in Australia in 2002, he trained at Royal Perth Hospital in Perth WA and subsequently obtained by examination, the Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Vascular Surgery (FRACS) in 2005.
Prof. Tripathi has over 20 years of vascular experience striving for evidence based, holistic and minimally invasive treatments focused towards excellent outcomes. His dedication to and distinction in the art and science of vascular surgery have been repeatedly recognized internationally including a Distinguished Fellow Award of Society for Vascular Surgery (USA), visiting Professorships to many universities including Mayo Clinic and Stanford University in the USA and Karolinska University in Sweden.
Prof. Tripathi has been honoured as the recipient of prestigious European Venous Forum Distinguished Keynote Invitational Lecture for 2018. He is also the 2017 recipient of Asterios Katsamouris Lecture by the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery.
Prof. Tripathi is a surgeon scientist by training and was inducted into Sigma Xi Honors Research Society in 2017 for his clinical research and publications involving endovascular solutions to aortic diseases especially mural thrombosis, abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, diabetic vascular disease, and venous ulceration. He is passionate about stent-graft device development, 3D printing of aortic morphology and pathology, inflammatory processes, genetics, surgical techniques and clinical outcomes related to disease of the aorta. He has partnered with a leading imaging company to investigate protocols for fusion and perfusion imaging. His team has the distinction of performing the first Valiant on Xcelerent TEVAR in Australia and New Zealand in 2005.
Dr. Tripathi frequently lectures to professional societies and leading vascular and endovascular conferences throughout the world. He is a reviewer for Journal of Vascular Surgery, EJVES, JVIR and a guest editor for Seminars in Vascular Surgery.
He serves on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Endovascular Therapy, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, Vascular, Phlebology, Aorta, Asian Journal of Surgery, Frontiers in Surgery, Endovascular Today and Vascular Disease Management.
